Journey to New Beginnings - September

Just a few days ago i handed over the key to my studio.
I thanked the agency who had helped me to found the studio, since it is hard for an artist to find a good working space at a resonable price, unless you rent through special art foundings or art agency's.
I had only worked there for about half a year as the contract i had was for half a year. And i had not expected to actually move out as soon as the original contract was over. We had ment to tacitly extend it, but it worked out differently.
As is life: you never actually know when things are about to shift, but some text i learned as a kid, still remain an awful lot of true nowadays: when there are 7 great years, always be aware of the 7 lean years.
Expect the unexpected, never get comfortable about the way things are. But learn to plan ahead.
Fortunately i did: i didn't expect to move that soon, but when the time came, i had some money stored away that could be used as a deposite for a new working space.
I didn't need it actually, as i was blessed to find new area in reasonable distance from my home at very reasonable pricing. (Although it was a bit more expensive than the space i rented before, i still counted my blessings!)
So: that is how it is, in business. Always be aware of an unexpected twist, so that you will not be fully blown away when things turn out differently than you had planed it to. Just try to save a little bit of money for any setback that may come your way. And than use it to get back in the saddle, when that time arrives. Never get comfortable! But always try to have a comfortable position, for a second option!
